The required outbound, from the NewsTicker server to the Internet, ports that need to be opened are listed below. Note that most stations permit full outbound access. These ports can be restricted to UnityIO servers listed.

If your station uses the NewsTicker secure web-based school closings feature, port 443 (HTTPS) inbound access is required. This service can be port mapped to a different port on your firewall, but needs to be directed to 443 on the NewsTicker server. This access can be restricted to the following servers.

Additionally, any user on your network that wishes to access the NewsTicker server user interface will need to be able to access the NewsTicker server on ports 80 (uncached) and 443.
Additional ports may be required depending upon ancillary services that are added or used to connect data or automation control points to the NewsTicker server.
