Symptom: Main Camera Issues
Intermittent symptom where Main camera appears out of sync with the others and/or out of sync with reference, and/or Main camera visible on the desktop but not outputting SDI video and/or Main camera outputting SDI video but not compositing graphics on SDI output. Also may appear as bad Bluefish input port. Also showing continuous dropped output frames in Tools > Video Status.
Solution: "Video Delay", "Video AllocFramesCount" and "Mixer Delay" must be correctly set together. The combined values are defined as "Video Latency". The easy way to set them correctly is to launch the Configuration Application>Video tab, select a value in "Video Latency" drop down list. Selecting the default value 6 (also a preset value) will change the XML in the config file video delay to 6, allocframescount to 30 and mixer delay to 2. Setting “Video Latency” to 20 (also a preset value) will change delay to 20, allocframescount to 44 and mixer delay to 13. Usually, setting Video Delay to either 6 or 20 will work but entering a value not in the drop down list will not create valid values for the other two. Symptoms for these being wrong are unknown but likely to be the same as above.
It is worth changing to a higher value at first and seeing if that returns the system to full functionality, then setting back to 6 to minimize delay. To view the values directly, open the Advanced tab and search for "delay" and "alloc".
