Axis now supports Single Sign-On (SSO) via external Identity Providers, enhancing user convenience and security. When using Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, the login process includes an additional step to specify your organization’s workspace before being redirected to the IdP.

6.1 Okta Login Flow
- On the Axis login page, click "Sign in with Okta".
- You will be redirected to an intermediate workspace entry page.
- Enter your organization’s Chyron workspace URL in the required format (e.g., your-workspace.chyron.com).
- This workspace name is provided by your organization’s administrator.
- Click Continue.
- You are redirected to your organization’s Okta login page.
- Authenticate using your Okta credentials.
- Once authenticated by Okta, you are redirected back to the Axis dashboard page.
- In case your email address is associated with multiple Axis accounts (using + aliases), you will see an Account Selection page.
- Choose the desired account to proceed.
- Axis creates a secure session and loads the dashboard for the selected account.
6.2 Microsoft Entra ID Login Flow
- On the Axis login page, click "Sign in with Microsoft".
- You will be redirected to an intermediate workspace entry page.
- Enter your organization’s Chyron workspace URL in the required format (e.g., your-workspace.chyron.com).
- This workspace name is provided by your organization’s administrator.
- Click Continue.
- You are redirected to your organization’s Entra ID login page.
- Authenticate using your Entra ID credentials.
- Once authenticated by Entra ID, you are redirected back to the Axis dashboard page.
- In case your email address is associated with multiple Axis accounts (using + aliases), you will see an Account Selection page.
- Choose the desired account to proceed.
- Axis creates a secure session and loads the dashboard for the selected account.
6.3 Workspace Name Storage and Management
- When you provide your workspace name during the Okta or Entra login process, it is stored in the browser’s Local Storage.
- As long as the workspace name is stored, you will not be asked to enter it again — clicking the IdP button will take you directly to the provider’s login page.
- To clear the saved workspace and force the prompt to appear again:
- On the Axis login page, hold CTRL and click the desired IdP button (Okta or Entra ID).
- This action clears the stored workspace name from Local Storage.
Important: Clearing the workspace does not log the user out of their Identity Provider account. If the user wants to switch to a different account (example: another Google, Okta, or Entra ID account), this must be handled directly within the third-party provider (by signing out or switching accounts there). Axis cannot clear or manage IdP sessions. |
