IBC Edition
What is Toolbox?
Toolbox is a broadcast "multi-tool" that bridges the gap between desktop content and professional live production. It combines three core workflows into a single application:
- Grabber: Captures specific applications, regions of interest, or full screens and outputs them in real-time via SDI or NDI.
- VC Player: An integrated multi-format video player that routes clip playlists directly to your broadcast output.
- Return Signal: Converts SDI/NDI feeds into a standard webcam signal, allowing remote guests on platforms like Zoom or Teams to see and hear live studio feeds.
What new features and updates are being featured at IBC?
The latest updates focus heavily on system deployment, security, and configuration stability:
- Secure Hover-Unlock: A new mechanism for active sessions that increases operational flexibility for users while maintaining system security.
- Input Validation: Automatically prevents the assignment of duplicate ports, eliminating frustrating configuration conflicts.
- Silent Installer: Streamlines IT deployment, making it significantly easier to roll out the software across multiple systems in a facility.
- Enhanced Genlock Offset: Gives operators finer control over signal synchronization.
How does Toolbox differ from consumer screen-capture tools?
Unlike basic screen grabbers, Toolbox is designed specifically for the high-pressure control room. It outputs true broadcast-grade signals (SDI and NDI) at full HD 1080p, ensures frame-accurate synchronization, supports Windows 11 LTSC, and consolidates multiple distinct utilities into one cohesive interface.
What are the deployment options for a facility?
Facilities can deploy Toolbox based on their specific hardware needs:
- Software Only: A license to run on the customer's existing qualified hardware.
- Software + SDI Card: A bundled license with a qualified Deltacast or Blackmagic Design SDI card.
- Turnkey Solution: A complete, pre-configured 1RU hardware system.
