IBC Edition
What updates have been made to the ZXY transponders?
The latest revision of the ZXY transponders features improved GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) accuracy. This builds on previous iterations that reduced the casing size and weight (ideal for wearable use by jockeys) and introduced a dual IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to detect specific physical events, such as when an athlete falls.
How is ZXY tracking data being used with live cameras?
Moving beyond the prototype phase, ZXY now includes a new PT (Pan-Tilt) set camera controller. This feature translates real-time positional tracking data into automated camera movements, allowing lenses to automatically track specific subjects on the field or track without manual operator intervention.
What tools are available for post-event analysis?
ZXY features an overhauled browser-based analysis tool that is now fully integrated with Google Maps. This allows analysts and production teams to replay data files, navigate through specific timeframes, and visualize precise tracking paths directly over real-world geographical map layers.
What new sports and visual capabilities are being showcased at IBC?
In addition to its established horse racing applications, the IBC presentation highlights new data-driven alpine skiing visuals. The system's enhanced tracking capabilities allow broadcasters to generate specialized, real-time graphics tailored for high-speed winter sports.
How does ZXY integrate with the rest of the Chyron ecosystem?
ZXY integrates seamlessly with Chyron PRIME and Virtual Placement. This pipeline converts raw tracking data into live broadcast overlays—such as identification arrows, real-time speed indicators, and distance metrics—perfectly synced with the live video feed.
